Climbing "La Bufa" Print E-mail

Cerro de la Bufa To arrive at "La Bufa" you must take the panoramic highway that goes towards the ISSSTE hospital, as soon as passing the hospital an electrical substation is on the right. If you go in car, you can leave it here, right front of you stands this hill. Bring some food in your back pack (energy bars are very light and power) and liquids (water or special sport drinks) and your equipment to climb (rope, harness, carabiners, shoes, etc.), be sure it isn´t very heavy because you still have to walk, the way is not very long but it will be better not to arrive tired.

escalar en Guanajuato You will find different kind of routes,  simpler and not very high if you are a beginner, but if you are intermediate or advanced "la Bufa"  has excellent routes  to spend all the day in your favorite sport.

Some routes are: In the first south section, 14 routes (5.8-5.11d) Insolation, Winds of Change, "la Chorreda". In the second north section, 16 routes (5.8-5.12c) Mezcal, the Lajita, Without Name. In the second south section, 8 routes (5.10b-5.11b) Mefistóteles, the Quemadita, Andrómeda. In the third section, 8 routes (5,9 - 5.11c) Hipotermia, Sun of Winter, Trepadaitor and in the fourth section, 8 routes (5.10a-5.11c) the Gandallas, the Chichimeca.
 
El Jay en la Bufa For the ones who arrived late or  want to stay another day of sport and adventure, camping is allowed anywhere freely on the hill. Remember there is sun in the morning and air at night so take your precautions. If you have had much of it and you prefer to rest or party, don´t forget that only few steps along you have the city of Guanajuato, where the adventure never finishes.
