Jazz & Blues Festival

Antonio Lozoya, the new director of the festival, with a deegre in Music with specialty in Jazz, decided to continue and renew what it was the International Festival of Jazz.

“One of the main ideas to continue this festival is to not let this type of cultural manifestations disappear. I consider that the best form for a place to grow in its cultural development is offering constantly this type of events in where we found a convergence point: music, and particulary Jazz and Blues”.

For the 2006 Festival we found:

The Magos Herrera jazz group.
The Betsy Pecanins blues group.
Professors of three diferents universities of jazz in U.S.A. (Villanueva/Anderson/Butterfield).
"Bob & Joe's Blues Show" a combination of U.S.A. and México musics.
Gabriel Hernández.
Roberto Vizcaíno (winner of the Grammy in 2000 for best latin jazz album) from Cuba.
Cody Moffett.
Jambalaya (drummer of jazz in New York, he has played with Stanley Jordan, Maniatan Transfern group, Courtney Pine, Kenny Garrett, Natalie Cole, Ravi Coltrane, Ornette Coleman, Bobby Hutchinson, Grover Washington Jr, Sun Ra, etc.).
