To think about Guanajuato is to send us to cultural festivals and colonial cities; even so in this state is also possible to enjoy the alternative tourism.

 One of its greatest attractives is the recreational area "Las Palomas" that, due to its great biodiversity, is a place for bird observers. It is part of the migratory way of the neotropical species center comming from Alaska, Canada and the United States.

The routes are under the direction of enabled guides who also give information on herbolaria and birds migration, as well as of the flora and fauna of the woods of Guanajuato. In the reserve a variety of 172 species of birds lives on , 40 percents of which are migratory. Also, there is a considerable population of mammals, like the white tail deer , cacomixtles and lynxes.

 In the last years, the "Cuenca de la Esperanza" has become the most important natural recreational place, which has caused a basic tourist infrastructure development , just like camping house rent, bicycles, binoculars, telescopes and lanterns, in addition to sanitary services, places to eat, grills and indicated areas to camp.

 The best form to arrive at this place is to take the highway that goes from Guanajuato to Dolores Hidalgo and five kilometers from the first, the way that leads to the ecological reserve is located. 

To enjoy this site, is recommendable to bring coffee, green or camouflage clothes ,boots of deep drawing, light foods and a canteen with water, as well as dark lenses and solar protector.

Don´t forget the protection of the area, is very important to not exceed a speed of 30 kilometers per hour, respect the flora and fauna, not to bring alcoholic drinks, make fires only in authorized sites and throw the trash in the indicated places. Remember that on us depends that these places, their flora and fauna continue being a space that benefits all us.
