San Miguel de Allende is a collection point for the arts, the visitors find institutes here to learn languages, painting, sculpture, textiles or ceramics. The craftsmen and the crafts,  have found in the bazaars of San Miguel an opened permanent gallery. In San Miguel it is possible to acquire mirrors, brass beds and oil lamps; wool articles and jorongos; objects carved in quarry; sculptures carved in fine wood of Celaya and Apaseo el Alto; rustic furniture, adornments of maché paper and forged iron pieces; wax figures from Salamanca; mayólica from Guanajuato and talavera from Dolores Hidalgo, as well as basketwork from Irapuato and the recognized blown glass of San Miguel de Allende, all with an appreciated artistic quality in Europe and North America to where they are exported.
