   The Festival Internacional Cervantino is the more important cultural and artistic event of Latin America. From 1972, year in which this great event began, it continues being celebrated year after
year in the colonial city of Guanajuato, declared Cultural Patrimony of
the Humanity by the UNESCO.
Every
year the FIC surprises us with the best cultural events of all the
corners. Countries from all the world are invited to share their artistic
proposals showing their traditions and their culture, at the
same time as modern and new cultural alternatives.
 In this edition the Festival Cervantino is pleased in having as honor guest country the Popular Republic of China showing us works that go from the
classic to the modern, with new perspectives that will
shake our senses, and as Mexican state honor guest, the state of San
Luis Potosí, that will surround us in their traditions, making of this
edition, not just another one, but an authentic and unique celebration that places Guanajuato in one of the four more important cultural
festivals at World-wide level.
More than 2400 artists of 27 different countries from the five
continents will meet in this beautiful city, an encounter of
different cultures, races and thoughts, united in a same aim, to show
the world the best and more varied artistic quality.
 There are spectacles for people of all ages and tastes, with the
purpose of arriving to more public and sensitizing young people and
children. Opera, music, dance and theater, visual arts like
cinema, exhibitions, street art and special projects like conferences
where any spectator can participate, all this with
different visions and conceptions of a same space. Be part of this great
event where different manifestations of art are integrated, of the
freedom, imagination and creativity that identifies it, of making the
magic and the dream come alive in a world that tends to disappear our
sensitivity and capacity of surprise about life.
